Frequently Asked Questions
How is the answered prayer count calculated?
The answered prayer count on PeoplePray.com is a total count of all private and public answered prayers. We do not display private prayers on our site so if you were to count the total answered prayers displayed the number wouldn't match what's displayed.
What is RSS and how can I use it to enhance my prayer life?
RSS is short for "real simple syndication". We syndicate all public prayers across the internet via this technology. So, if you use Google as your home page for instance, you can click the "add to Google" button on the community prayers list and each time a prayer is added to our site it will be added to your Google home page. We offer this to all the major RSS feeders across the internet. We feel syndicating prayers across the internet is awesome.
When I login, what does it mean that I am "clay" status member?
We thought it would be fun to have PeoplePray.com members have statuses based on the number of community prayers you have prayed for. We value intercession for others and feel that being a part of a community such as this should be focused on praying for others. For a list of all statuses and what is takes to achieve them, login and click your status.
In "my messages", how do I know when I have a message?
If you have a message from another community member there will be a number in parenthesis next to "my messages" in the dark gray navigation bar. It will tell you how many messages you have. The only way to remove this number is to delete your messages. It's recommended that you delete your message on a regular basis.
Is it possible for other community members to find out my identity?
PeoplePray.com has made it a priority to maintain your privacy. When you signup you are required to create a username. We recommend that your username not contain any personally identifiable information. For instance, do not make your username "johnb" or "jsmith". It's better to use creative usernames like "Praygeek" or "1Praying4U". It's also good to keep personally identifiable information out of your public prayer requests and public answered prayers. Aside from information that you enter into our site we do not place your identity at risk. For more about this, review our privacy policy.
I have not been receiving my prayer list by email. Is there something else that I need to do?
When you login to your account, go over to the “email alerts” link on the left side of the page. You will have to check the box to receive the daily prayer list. We are currently working on some updates that will make it possible to add a prayer to your “daily prayer list email” when you are adding the prayer to your “my prayer list”.
I want to discontinue paypal, how do I do that?
To discontinue your subscription payment via PayPal you will need to login to your PayPal account and unsubscribe from there. Thank you for your contributions to PeoplePray.com!
How do I send a message to someone for whom I am praying?
When you are praying for someone who has posted a public prayer on the site, you just need to go to your “My Community Prayers” tab in your login. On each prayer in that list there is a link that says “send encouraging message”. Click that link and your set. Here is an image to show an example:
If your prayer doesn't have the "Send Encouraging Message" link it means that the PeoplePray member does not want to receive messages.
