Our Team

Jason Nuss:  President

Jason Nuss is a husband, dad, a church leader, and a devoted friend.  He has always been driven to maximize his efforts in every thing he does, including his prayer life.  Frustrated one day with his lack of prayer consistency he told his friend Dave that he needed to pray more.  About a week later, while sitting in church listening to a sermon on prayer, God struck the vision of a prayer management web site into Jason’s heart.  The vision would not only help him but also encourage God’s people to pray for each other and see those prayers answered.

God has been working up-stream preparing Jason, and the world, for this vision.  With leadership positions held at Crosstown Community Church and Portland Open Bible,  and currently on the leadership team at New Life Fellowship in Scappoose, Oregon, Jason has worked with leaders doing men’s ministry, youth ministry, elder board ministry, and prayer team ministry.

Professionally, Jason has been working in the Internet industry for 5 years and currently holds a Director of Operations position at Opus Creative Group, Inc., a web development company that owns its own data center, has its own web hosting company and ISP.  In his Director role at Opus, Jason manages strategic business aspects in their interactive division, www.opusinteractive.com, from online marketing and operations to staffing and HR.  He developed a business plan for the opus:interactive division, and has helped lead opus to receiving the award of being one of the “100 best companies to work for in Oregon” 4 of the last 5 years by Oregon Business Magazine.  Opus Creative Group, Inc. was also recently placed on the “25 Fastest Growing Tech Companies in Oregon” list for the years 2003-2005.  Jason mentors and manages a team of 10 professional’s towards accomplishing the company’s mission of world class customer care and service.

Jason has been married to his wife Kelly for 12 years.  They have three children, two boys and a girl, and live in the Portland area.

Dave Arthur: V.P.

Vice-President Dave Arthur has been involved with PeoplePray.com since the day Jason Nuss (PeoplePray.com President) shared the vision with him.  He knew immediately PeoplePray.com was a website that was long overdue.  He knew it would help enrich people’s prayer life, including his own.

For over 23 years, Dave has enjoyed a very successful career in radio broadcasting, spanning a number of formats.  Currently Dave is leading a successful team of broadcasters in Portland, Oregon at 104.1 The Fish.  He has a history of working with and leading successful radio stations in Idaho, Washington, and Oregon for companies like Salem Communications, Clear Channel Communications, Educational Media Foundation, and Citadel Communications.  His on-air talents are also used at other stations across America through voice tracking.  In addition to his work in Portland Dave’s radio programs can be heard in Boise, Idaho; Rapid City, South Dakota; Redlands, California; and the nation’s capital Washington D.C.

Although Dave has worked in both Christian and secular radio formats, his heart has always been in ministry.  “I love how Christian radio can encourage so many individuals at any given moment.  You never know who’s listening, or what their need at that exact moment might be.  It’s that same reason that I’m so excited about being part of PeoplePray.com.  You don’t know who the next person is that will log or where in this world they may live, but we can learn what each other’s needs are and then support each other in prayer.”

In radio, Dave's mission has always been to draw in as many listeners as possible.  He hopes to use many of those skills as the V.P. of PeoplePray.com.  Utilizing radio, relationships, and connecting churches are a few of the ways Dave is making that happen.

Dave has been married to his wife Shauna for close to 17 years.  They have three daughters and live in the Portland area.

Mike Taylor - Director

In Mike's own words:  "My name is Mike Taylor and I am the Pastor of New Life Fellowship church in Scappoose, Oregon.  I am also the music teacher for 4th through 6th grade students at Petersen Elementary School in Scappoose.  My wife Mary, and our three children, have lived in Scappoose since 1999.  We moved here from Texas because of God’s calling upon our lives to come and minister in the Northwest.

I came to faith in Christ when I was 19 years old.  I was raised in a Christian home and attended church most every Sunday.  But I never understood the claims of the gospel until 19.  This was a time of rebellion and turmoil in my life.  I had decided that God did not exist and there was no reason to believe in Jesus.  A friend of mine invited me to church one evening to a Christian Rock concert.  My thought was that Christian Rock seemingly was a contradiction, so I went more out of curiosity than desire.  At this concert the main performer shared his testimony and how faith in Christ was based upon a personal relationship.

Jesus said in John 17:3, “And this is the way to have eternal life—to know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, the one you sent to earth.”

For some reason that night it all clicked.  All the years of church and Sunday school finally made sense and I knew that this was what I was searching for.  That night I gave my heart and life to Christ.

In 1987 while attending a church in Gainesville, Florida, I met my wife.  We were married in 1988.  At that time I also began to sense God’s calling upon my life to be a minister of the gospel.  We spent the next 7 years in school preparing for our life of ministry.  Since 1990 we have had the opportunity to serve our Lord in small churches in Florida, Texas and now in Scappoose.

My passion is to know Christ, and I believe that there is nothing in life more precious than knowing Him, serving Him and bringing Him glory.  I have found that the pursuit of happiness through the things of the world brings only temporary happiness.  But in Christ, there is a deep and satisfying joy that is found in no other place.  Our heart in Scappoose is to share that joy with others in our community here.

I am excited about the People Pray project and the opportunity to see a larger community of prayer gathering together.  Our church has a prayer team of about four persons and we gather together for prayer on a weekly basis.  We have seen the Lord do some incredible things as we have prayed consistently over the last few years.  Prayer is a gift from God and I believe that the Lord will bless your life as you seek Him in meaningful and effective prayer.  May the Lord strengthen you as you seek His heart."
